Some speak of a "paradise on earth"... But what is it? Imagined and created by the artist André Heller, from Austria, the Anima garden opened its doors in Marrakech in April 2016!
Located 27km from the city center of Marrakech on the road Ourika, find, on more than 2 hectares, plantations and varied flowers but also curiosities artists...
Its history intrigues you? I understand! It was in 2008 that the artist André Heller, in love with Morocco, bought a piece of land of about 8 hectares with the idea of making a magnificent park near Marrakech. In addition to the design of lush gardens, buildings are constructed to offer over time exhibitions and conferences!
Anima invites curious visitors to a permanent exhibition, in the heart of this garden, of the works of the painter Hans Werner Geerdts, a Marrakchi at heart but a native of Germany.
Between the palms, banana trees, bougainvillea and other trees and fragrant flowers from all over the world, you will come across surprising and amusing works such as sculptures, hidden in the garden's alleys, as well as pavilions where you can rest... If this pose in the shade is not enough for you, we invite you to visit the Paul Bowles Café in the Anima garden in Marrakech. On the menu are fresh fruit juices, hot drinks and also a few suggestions for the hungry: quiche, salad, soup, cake and pastries (between 20 and 50dhs). Remember that in September 2021, the American writer Stéfanie Waldek ranks the Anima Garden in Marrakech in "the 150 gardens to visit before you die".
This garden of Marrakech is located more than 20km from the city center, if you do not have a car, you will have to take a "big cab", to book preferably with your riad or the hotel reception to avoid a long negotiation with the driver.
The Anima Marrakech garden is open every day from May 1st to September 30th from 9am to 6pm and from October 1st to April 30th from 9am to 5pm.
Please note! During the Ramadan period, the Anima garden is open every day from 9am to 3pm.
Prices: - 120 dhs for tourists, - 60 dhs for children from 12 to 16 years old, - 60 dhs for Moroccans and foreign residents in Morocco, - 30 dhs for Moroccan children from 12 to 16 years old, - free for children under 12 years old.
